Frequently asked

How do I get the app?

Aurascan is available on the App Store for iPhone. Search for Aurascan in the App Store, or open our App Store link on your iPhone. There is no Android version yet. Join the waitlist to hear when Aurascan is on Google Play.

Why can I only scan 5 products a day?

The Free plan includes 5 product scans per day. It counts different products, so opening something you already scanned today doesn't use another scan. The count resets every day at midnight UTC. Plus and Pro include unlimited scans.

What if a product isn't found?

Add it by photo. Photograph the front, the ingredient list and, if there is one, the Nutrition Facts panel, then tap Analyze. You get a result for it, and it stays private to you under My products on the Profile tab until we review it. Approved products join the shared catalog, credited as user-contributed. Adding a product we don't have yet doesn't count toward the Free plan's daily scans.

Why don't cosmetics and personal care products show nutrition?

Each product is classified once by how it's used: eaten or drunk, applied to skin, and so on. For products you don't eat, such as shampoo or lotion, food-only details like nutrition facts and the habits card are left out, and ingredient findings are limited to the ways that product actually reaches you.

What is the food diary on the Insight tab?

It's a Pro feature. Log foods and scanned products by meal and see daily totals for calories, protein, carbs and fat, plus weekly and monthly views. On Free and Plus, the Insight tab explains the diary and shows it locked.
